It was a chilly Sunday in December, so the morning for Chase and Ashleigh started with a cup of coffee at about 11 am. Expecting lunch with friends, Ashleigh quickly agreed to a trip to Furman, and the pair hopped in Chase's car.
A few minutes later, an insignificant phone call came through - the friends, it would seem, were going to be a bit late... the perfect excuse to take a walk down by the bell tower.
Cold, and trying to remain calm, Chase shot the breeze with Ashleigh down the excruciatingly long path from the car to the tip of the bell tower peninsula.
Ashleigh caught a glimpse of a sign from across the lake ~ "Is that for me?? You must be joking!" Chase asked her to marry him. Her answer was an emphatic "YES!" and she pulled the happiest guy on earth up from one knee.
